Our Program
The New Legacy Home for women has 24 beds, is a safe, free-of-charge, non-government funded, voluntary, faith-based discipleship program. The target age for the New Legacy is 21-55 years old.
The New Legacy Home serves women who call Lubbock, or surrounding community, their home and desire a positive change in their lives. This can include women needing to move out of habits caused by drug and alcohol use, women with issues of anger, failure, rejection, and doubt, abused women, and women seeking their GED or job skills. Single moms are also welcomed, with the understanding that their children cannot reside in the home.
The New Legacy Home exists to help women that clearly have a strong desire to change their lives and are willing to commit to fifteen months of working towards that goal. The purpose of our program is to help women write a new life story and to leave a new legacy that empowers them and future generations. The hope is for them to leave impact in the Lubbock community and to become productive citizens.
This program is designed to give women practical resources needed to write a new life story and positively navigate the path toward permanent change. The following is an overview of the New Legacy program:

Our Program Phases
Genesis Phase
3 months
The Introduction
Focus: Build a relationship with Christ, teach values and self-worth, learn to manage finances
Programs: Individual and Group Counseling, Financial Coaching, Celebrate Recovery, Parenting Classes
Participation: Church, Volunteer Work, Physical Fitness, Bible Studies
Basic life skills are modeled and taught for the entirety of the program.
Residents are not permitted to be employed outside of the home in the Genesis Phase.
A bi-weekly stipend of $50 will be given starting on the 3rd week of residency through the end of the Genesis Phase. (The stipend will be used as a tool for the Financial Coach and the resident to develop a personalized debt reduction, savings, and spending plan.)
*When applicable, during this phase women will begin working on restoring relationships with their children. Different levels of visitation as allowed by Children’s Protective Services or guardians will be encouraged.
Proverbs Phase
6 months
Wisdom and Daily Living
Focus: address destructive patterns, learn general wisdom, discover practical truth for godly living, establish a life of excellence, learn order and structure
Programs: Individual and Group Counseling, Financial Coaching, Celebrate Recovery, Parenting Classes
Participation: Bible Studies, Church, Physical Fitness, Volunteer Work
Residents can be employed part-time outside of the home, in order to learn how to balance study, work and personal time.
No stipend will be given, and their earning from work will be used on their personalized debt reduction, savings, and spending plan.
Rent will paid to contribute to the needs of the home, $50 monthly will be turned into the Administrative Coordinator.
Revelation Phase
6 months
The Final Phase
Focus: continued growth in freedom from areas of weakness and strongholds.
Programs (as schedule allows): Individual and Group Counseling, Financial Coaching, Celebrate Recovery, Parenting Classes
Participation (as schedule allows): Bible Studies, Church, Physical Fitness, Volunteer Work
Residents can be employed full-time outside of the home.
Residents will pay rent; they must contribute $100 monthly and turn it into the Administrative Coordinator.
Transition back into the community will occur, giving residents the opportunity to practice what they have learned
*Any of the women that have children in the foster care system or living with relatives will continue to pursue visitations. The New Legacy staff will work closely with Child Protective Services and relatives to foster healthy family relationships that will promote the restoration of families.
Application Process
Phase 1: Complete the Initial Interest form
Phase 2: Complete In-Depth Application
Write a minimum five-page life story that includes but is not limited to the following: a description of your childhood, history of trauma/abuse, addictions, criminal history, family relationships, and other significant relationships.
Phase 3: Interview & Assessments
In-Person Interview and Medical Assessment Multiple interviews may be required.
Referral Needed from one of the New Legacy Partners, such as the Lubbock Dream Center, Celebrate Recovery, Managed Care, Road to Restoration, Freedom Ministries, Volunteers of the New Legacy and Partnering Churches.
*Please note that the timeframe and expectations for each applicant will vary based on current events at the NLH and prospective residents’ situations.
